Represented by BFAR Assistant Regional Director, ENGR. JOSEPH FLORIG, another 1,200 of Enhanced Saline tilapia for breeders and another 20,000 pcs. of Tilapia Fry for dispersal were donated to Dipolog School of Fisheries on October 5, 2015.
The donation was officially received by MR. NEIL PULIDO, Focal Person of Extension, Consultancy and Linkages of the school and at the same in-charge of the Aquasilviculture program, a joint project of BFAR and Dipolog School of Fisheries and it was the second time that BFAR provided the school of free tilapia fry to support the on-going radio program of “Eskwela sa Kahanginan” to encourage upland fisherfolks.
MRS. ROSELLA D. DARCERA, the School Administrator on the other hand expressed appreciation to BFAR as these Tilapia Fry will go into the fish farmer beneficiaries who are really in need of supply of tilapia fry to sustain their farming as their main livelihood. We have more than 30 beneficiaries in our radio program of “Eskwela sa Kahanginan” and they are expected to increase in the final month of the program.
