DGGM leads Regional TVET Reform and Development Agenda

Eighteen (18) Reform and Development Agenda were introduced during the Regional TVET Consultation held at Zamboanga City on October 18, 2016 led by TESDA Secretary General, Atty. Guiling A. Mamomdiong and his Deputy, Alvin S. Feliciano.
Said agenda were presented to TESDA officials in Zamboanga Peninsula Region led by Director Lorenzo G. Macapili to convey the program direction of the agency for the next six (6) years and beyond.

Among the reforms and development agenda includes: Barangay Scholarship Program, On-line Scholarship Application, Technical Audit on TVET Schools and Programs,Skills Training for Drug Dependents, Skills Training for Entrepreneurs and Family Enterprise, Skills Training Program for Inmates and their Families, Inclusive Training for Women, Global Access to Online Database of TVET Graduates and Certified Workers, Linkages with Agro-Industry, Continuing Program for TESDA Alumni, Linkages with State Universities and Colleges, Linkages with Foreign Skills Training Institution, Transparency and Moral Renewal.

DGGM Secretary Mamondiong in his message emphasized fully well the present administration’s declaration of all out war against drugs in the country. He enjoined TESDA officials and employees to be at the forefront servants in the government unblemished with reputation of drug participation and involvement. He also stressed that scholarship to every Filipino in the country regardless of his political affiliation, color of skin and religious denomination shall be afforded with same opportunity as we are all brothers in the eyes of law and God. Finally, Mindanao Federalism is firmly endorsed by the present administration to ensure progress to Mindanaons, as he concluded.

On the other hand, Deputy General Feliciano also pointed out that walk-in scholarship program is also promoted to give access to any deserving applicant free from any political influence.

Other officials as members of the delegates during the consultation includes, Maria Susan dela Rama, Executive Director, Certification Office, TESDA Central Office, Director Sisinio B. Cano, from the Department of Labor, who also gave message as to the linkages of DOLE and TESDA in the Implementation of programs that addressed to the protection of blue collar job employees in the private sectors.

Dir. Lorenzo G. Macapili also pushed the development of new competencies that would enhance employability of trainees and the productivity of industries.
Officials of the school who attended the consultation were, Mr. Quirino S. Tamayo, Vocational Instruction Supervisor, Dante F. Aliman, Administrative Officer and Licinio O. Lanojan, Instructor I.
